Cartoner

Overview

Fully automated cartoners perform various functions, from feeding to closing of the cartons filled with the products. The requirements for all components of these multi-talented devices are mostly complete freedom from the need for lubrication or maintenance, the lowest possible weight as well as precise and reliable motion sequences.

Used products and application examples

The Neubauplan Automation Machines packaging machine is used as an example below to show the usual cartoner stations and how they use our products. For various format adjustments, the manufacturer sometimes uses drylin bearing technology and lead screw modules, but also igubal spherical bearings and iglidur plain bearings.

This machine folds cartons, loads them with up to 500 consumer goods items per minute, and transports them to the dispatch station.

1. Carton feeder

iglidur plain bearings for high loads and with optimized friction and wear properties ensure that the cardboard blanks are fed into the packaging process.

2. Product inserter

igubal spherical plain bearings and drylin W profile guides in combination with a pair of the associated drylin W housing bearings work well in the thrust device.

3. Carton erector

As the blank is pushed through a shaft, the carton takes form and encloses the product. The linear movement is made possible by drylin rails and carriages in combination with igubal spherical bearings.

4. Carton handling

Guide rollers with xiros ball bearings or a carton feed consisting of drylin W profile guides and housing bearings work well for transporting the cardboard boxes.
