The drygear® RL-D external rotary axis from igus is a compact and versatile unit designed to perform defined rotational movements.
The rotary axis is driven electromechanically via a worm gear combined with a stepper motor. The high gear ratios available in the worm gear ensure self-locking, so that the position reached is held securely even when unpowered. There is no need for additional braking or holding systems.
The design consists largely of tribologically optimised high-performance plastics enabling lubrication-free dry operation and making the rotary axis completely maintenance-free. At the same time, weight and costs are reduced, whilst ensuring a long service life and corrosion-free operation.
Thanks to its compact, maintenance-free design and integrated self-locking, the drygear® RL-D external rotary axis is ideal for reliable use in demanding industrial applications.
